Aj's Reference Sheet

Description

Who could Aj be?My real-life dog! Aj is currently ten years old, but on DA, he is ageless.
I have no information on Aj's parents or littermates, so his breed is more or less speculation. The Chow is nearly guaranteed, because of his tongue and personality, and I only guess Rottweiler because the colors and general build seem to fit. That said, any breed that could pass tanpoint on to him and has a similar build to this is hypothetically just as likely.

Name: Aj
Sex: Neutered Male
Age: N/A
Breed: Chow/Rottweiler?
Personality: He's a stubborn guy who loves food and isn't a fan of being touched by anyone but those few he has bonded most closely with. Aj is very independent and requires strong leadership in order to obey. If he senses weakness, he is prone to rebellion, and may snap if pushed. Though he may be aloof towards most people, he is a very different dog around his handler. Loyal, affectionate, and even quite silly at times, Aj makes a fantastic companion for those experienced and strong enough to handle his chow-like mannerisms. He is quite low energy and does not require much in the way of day-to-day maintenance. The real challenge is his challenges towards authority, and he is very clever about finding new ways to test limits. Aj responds well to food motivation and patience. Lose your temper, and he will too.
History: I found him at the age of two months in a humane society in Kentucky when I was twelve years old. He was my first dog and I worked very hard to raise him as best I could. I was living with my abusive father at the time, and he loved to go on "power trips" where he would physically force Aj to the ground and pin him there as a punishment for even the smallest things, even if it had been awhile since Aj had done whatever set my father off and had no idea why he was getting punished. My father would also throw things at him, or occasionally drag him around by the back of his neck. Aj was never seriously hurt by any of this, but it did exaggerate those "difficult" parts of his personality. My parents divorce when I was eighteen, and a year later, I moved into my own apartment. There, I was able to put all my effort into rehabilitating him, and he is now a happy, healthy dog. I feel terrible that he spent most of his life in that horrible place, but that only motivates me to give him the best retirement possible. Aj was my only friend during those dark times. I owe him my life in many ways.

Aj's markings are symmetrical, and his tongue spots do not have to be exact. There is a little pink still there, but the front quarter is all dark.
